This book begins where Foundations of Mathematics ends and provides an interesting and applied exploration of topics such as solving equations, basic geometry, tables and statistics, and graphing. Each section, which consists of pre-activity information and an activity, presents students with the required background information, formal methodologies (with examples), and models that demonstrate the use of the methodologies. The use of validation is continually stressed, as students are challenged to work with increasingly complex problems.
